For a very long time, I considered being a wedding photographer. Upon discovering the Flanigan’s work, I became enamored and A Fist Full of Bolts became my gold standard. But after shooting a few weddings, I realized even though I loved taking pictures, wedding photography was probably not best for me. Great wedding photographers tell other peoples stories as best they can through images. I am truly a studio artist – I enjoy creating under my own conditions and doing the opposite: telling my stories. (Yeah… I guess I’m a little self-centered. Also, less pressure.)
I never imagined I would have Sean and Melanie Flanigan be a part of my own wedding. But after struggling to find someone locally, on a whim, I contacted them to see if they could work with my budget. Graciously, because December is a slow season for weddings, they did. I couldn’t believe it. I wanted the simplest wedding day possible; I didn’t have grandiose plans for our day, there were no “dream wedding” ideas on my mind. Yet I was blessed enough to have my dream photography team a part of it.
They did not disappoint. And even more, everyone loved spending time with them. They are fun, down-to-earth people who made us all feel at ease. I am so glad they were a part of it all. So here it is… just a few of my favorites that highlight our special day. To Sean and Melanie. And mom and dad. And Tim.
